Dark Comedy! Ghostlight Ensemble Presents Krampus at Underground Wonder Bar (November 1, 2016)

Krampus! is the story about a family going to a remote cabin in the woods to celebrate Christmas. But instead of a nice calming weekend, one of the family members gets possessed by Krampus, the Christmas Demon that scares children into behaving. It’s a tongue-in-cheek dark comedy that has everyone laughing. The play was written by Jaclyn Jensen and Mike Wozniak of Chicago who throw in many bits of funny local references.

The soundtrack features “Last Christmas” by Wham! (though the Jimmy Eat World version is better), which has different meanings for the characters. The mother loves all things Christmas and this song especially. On the other opposite side of the spectrum, the boyfriend is reminded of a bloody Black Friday fight over a DVD player at Kmart that still haunts him. His telling of this story is performed fantastically and is a major highlight of the show.

Will this family be able to defeat Krampus and save Christmas? Get your tickets to find out now through Dec 13th!
